Visiting editor`s Letter

In today's world design education is complete and utter fiction. Problems in design education the most pressing matters. So when[kAk) magazine invited me to become a “guest editor” in the issue dedicated to matters of education in graphic design, I willingly accepted this chance to take part in the hopeless attempt.

Later, Katya Kozhukhova, going through a pile of completely unpublishable pictures swore under her breath and regretted aloud that she took this unfortunate subject matter, engaging herself in the most difficult project they have ever had. These difficulties were shared with them by Gennady Vershinin and Nikolai Piskunov from Tyumen, Oleg Veklenko and Vladimir Lesnyak from Kharkov, Michael Renner from Basel and Denise Gonzalez Krisp from Los Angeles, Konstantin Startsev and Kseniya Pozdnyakova from St.Petersburg, Anatoly Semyonov and Sergrey Nikolaev from Moscow “Poligraf” Institute, Vladimir Sidorenko and Irina Stor from the Textile Academy, Vladimir Muzychenko and (especially) Alexander Lavrentiev from Stroganov's college ? we owe them compassion, sincere gratitude and a bust made of pure gold in their native towns.

This magazine about design education we would like to dedicate to our students - current and future, the future of graphic design is entirely in their hands.
