The issue is full of selected publication design. The participants of the issue are 35 magazines from all over the world.
Graphic Design Magazine
[kAk), magazine about graphic design, — is the only illustrated periodical issue devoted to professional graphic design in Russia. Problems wich affect us are on the verge of design and advertising, professional and marginal, kitsch and refined culture, dullness and quick wit. We are not trying to teach anyone how to live their lives, our goal is to simply pick themes that we, ourselves, find interesting. And there is plenty to choose from: beginning with work of famous Russian and foreign graphic designers, to design market prices, and advertising in the format, necessary for any practicing designer.
Since then, more than 30 issues have been published. In collaboration with foreign design-studios we put together issues covering japanese, american, swiss, french and indian designers along with their work. Eroticism in advertisment; packaging; typefaces and their creators; russian avant-garde film poster; the art of llustration and masters of this genre; faces of radical design; academy of graphic design; antiglobalism-are only a few themes covered in the previous issues of [kAk).
In the near future and planning to come out with issues devoted to british, dutch, polish, chinese and italian design and concerning production and web-design, multi-page publications and development of identity.
[kAk) is loved and respected by professional designers as well as commercial advertisers and students. It was founded by the DesignDepo studio in 1996 and is published in 5 000 editions quarterly, every issue ranging from 112 to 184 pages. Our format is 220×280 mm.
